I agree with many of the points made, but I can't fault a pilot for trying to escape whatever mess they're in by coming here. The system is at fault, not the individual pilot.

I agree with your statement, however the reality of life at Atlas must be understood. It's easy to see a big jet and greener grass, then after 24 months realize that you just wasted two years of your life, logged 400 hours, did irreparable damage to your personal life and health, and are now mired in this cesspool of an operation.

It's too easy to fool ourselves, especially when you see a 747 and something new and seemingly exciting over the horizon. Anyway, its just so important to be honest with ourselves, to those considering coming and most importantly, to those working here. The first step to recovery is admitting the problem right?

Just out of curiosity how much flight time are people logging monthly? I imagine it’s different on the 74 vs 76

Flight time on the 767: About 25 hrs per month. On the 747 I was doing in the neighborhood of 60 per month. A lot depends on the lines you bid, of course.

As a reference I have done 657 block hours on the 747 so far this year. My ADP statement shows a YTD gross of $107K. I've been here less than 3 years. Atlas had added a little over $5k in 401k match, plus about $10k in per diem. True numbers. I take a good bit of time off as well in the year.

The only way to make 107K in 11 months is to have a moderate amount VX.

Or he didn't subtract his imputed income for his gateway travel.

I dont live in base, havent had any real imputed income to speak of, and admit i have probably done about 15 total days of Vx in the year which was spread over 3 different OT trips. I seem to average about 78hrs a month with no OT. [($105 x 78) x 12] comes to $98k/year. The extra $10k or so came from the Vx.
