Just buy the $20 a month T-Mobile data plan. Unlimited worldwide (1 Gig US). Put the sim card they send you in a old phone or swap it with your current phone when you leave the US.

The Clarity Aloft (with custom ear buds) works very nicely for me.

However, I am biased as I don't like wearing any over the ear headsets for more than an hour or so.

How did you get custom ear buds for the Clarity Aloft? I didn't know they made custom molded ear buds.

Bose QC-15 with UFly Mike worked great on the 747. Bonus was it is great for all the dh'ing.

I used the Airman 750 for 18 years in the 757 and it is useless in the 747. You will need a noise cancelling headset in the noisy 747. I have been using a Sennheiser HMEC-25 for 5 years.

Spoke with the folks at uflymike, they mentioned that many atlas pilots are requesting the cord to be a foot longer, 6.5' vs the standard 5.5'. Is this specific to the 74?

Honestly how loud could the 74 be.... I use a 750 in a DC9 canned out and can't imagine it would be worse.
