Atlas Air Hiring
however, I will say this: to tell me I'm not doing my part to help out based on what he reads is inaccurate. Im probably the only new hire from my class who refuses to pickup OT even though it means agonizing on 50 hour guarantee for a few months (which I actually am doing believe it or not). I'm here to be part of the solution not the problem.
CaltainV, fair enough. Thanks for the guidance!
All in.
Did it ever occur to you that some of us that have posted this stuff (not you!!) have been here and elsewhere longer than you've been on this rock?
Look, this is not about "the sky is falling" -- it's about making our lives better. It is about holding our heads high in comparison to our peers. There is no shame in that...and I'll fight for that all day long. I have no doubt you will as well.
However, please understand that some of us on these boards are a bit more connected than you may realize, so it may be a good idea to hold off on the rosy picture you seem to paint. Sorry, I'm not buying the rosy picture...I know better.

You are all right. I have not been here very long and I haven't seen what you all have. I was trying to keep a little positivity that I thought would help our pilot group as a whole. I shall wholeheartedly withdraw my remarks and apologize to anyone I offended. I'm on your side and will do my part!
Cheers
Fair enough. My apologies to Captain Springer.

Canuck, you're a young man with a long career ahead of you and full of optimism and positivity; I get it, it's only natural and no one is faulting you for that. Now, take that "positivity" you have and devote 100% of it to your union brothers and sisters. Don't invest a single second of that energy into the company (Purchase) because they will only steal your time and fruits of your hard work and leave you bitter and jaded. I've been there and don't want that for you. I went through the last amalgamation and it's not pretty. Give your union 15 minutes, not purchase. Put that youthful energy into holding the line out there when you operate your aircraft. You don't need to say anything, talk is cheep. Use the way you conduct yourself on the line and operate your aircraft as your medium to communicate with those bastards.
DC8,
I always admire and read your posts with great interest. You know what's up and I appreciate the kind words.
See you out on the line!

Hey ya'll, quick question.
Read earlier that iPads are issued in training. Are they locked down pretty good as far as installing your own apps, like Netflix and such. On the fence about buying my own. Carrying a laptop for 17 days gets old, trust me...
BTW, March 14th 74 class. Currently at K4.
Thanks!

..but, I can definitely understand why you wouldn't want to tote a laptop around.
Do you mind sharing when you are interviewed?
-Thanks!
