Atlas has very poor organizational structure from middle management down and is and has always been set up to fail. It's only because of the out of the box creative, forward thinking of the flight crews that Atlas is even in business right now, yet alone making record profits and growing into the biggest ACMI on the planet. Well, Purchase has sent a strong signal that they do not recognize the fact that we've been carrying this airline on our backs for decades and it's time to take the weight off our backs. Stop being creative, forward thinking, just be a dumb robot that does what your manuals tell you to do. Carry flight plan fuel, if you have to divert, divert. Don't creatively try and find an outside of the box way to accomplish the mission, it's not your job. When something's broke, write it up (who cares if it's an outstation and they don't have the light bulb) again, not your job. If you don't have cba required catering, don't move the jet (meal vouchers are for losers) and the list goes on. Let purchase see what it's like to have the outside of the box, abstract problem solving component of their crews taken out of the picture, let them feel the pain. Remember, JD and BF have publicly stated that they want to amalgamate our two POS contracts, they haven't once said they're looking forward to amalgamating their executive Atlas compensation with Southern's execs... STOP THE HYPOCRACY! be professional, do your jobs, leave nothing unturned.
Just had to quote this again!

New hires need to understand that this is the environment we're in now. Once you're on the line, read your CBA, know when your rights are being violated, and contact the Stewards if you need someone to go to bat for you.

I'm sorry, I can't help myself with this one.

This is about OUR career, not selfish whining. I've served as a volunteer for this pilot group for 3 years, and most of the guys posting here are also committee volunteers. Get your mind right; we're spreading this information for the betterment of every single Atlas pilot, present and future.

I encourage anyone off IOE to find ways to contribute, as well (nothing confrontational until you're off probation).

Excellent post. If even half of us did this on a daily basis, the company would cave in a week.

It IS really that simple. All In!

I seriously can't believe the posts you're writing. You were hired in September and already are telling those of us with years in this company what are ants and elephants?

That's insulting.

Just curious - what do you think that means?
Amalgamation:

"the action, process, or result of combining or uniting."

Combining the two contracts doesn't necessarily imply that they are going to try and find the middle of the two. Although that would be a logical assumption to make and fear to have, saying that it is a fact is, at this point, factually conjecture.

Fair enough! If I misunderstood your post I apologize. I took it that you were criticizing new hires coming here of jeopardizing or hurting your career.

No, I'm telling you that the sky has NOT fallen yet, even if it appears to be. Unexpected things happen in aviation (remember when Pan Am was the place to be?) and I'm sorry if I offended you, but I'm just trying to keep a LITTLE positivity here until we know for certain we are in deep trouble. And while I can understand how difficult of a situation those that have been here for a long time are in, quite frankly, I'm too old and fat to spend my time working with people who literally can't be positive about anything. I'm not saying there isn't reason to worry but I'm interested to see what happens first. The company is still meeting with our negotiation team.
