The company can "want" anything. Anything less than a status qou contract has huge implications in the entire operation. I highly doubt given the current climate of our proffession Mgmt would play a game of Russian Roulette.

I've personally seen when pilots band together. The operation grinds to a slow halt, performance suffers, stock prices sink, and share holders get ****ed.

Take a look back most recently with the AA pilots and the deplorable ontime perfomance. http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/09/travel/airlines-on-time-performance/

If mgmt wants to play games- let them, it's what they are good at. Band together and be strong. Every group goes through it the Atlas Group is no different, your not special. Stand up and fight.

This battle is going to be won by following the rules to the letter and doing our jobs. Safe taxi speeds, safe de-ice practices, good judgment with use of the parking brake (there's no need to ever block out early) always something more to review, brief; or, some hazmat to visually inspect, good judgment with the use of the APU, never compromising when it comes to your blood sugar and catering needs, using the fatigue risk management program (never compromising safety for profitability), never doing travels (confirming and or calling for transportation) job for them, never doing scheduling's job for them, never doing ANYONE'S job for them, we are not trained in these areas, it's distracts us from our areas of operation and is unsafe. Atlas has very poor organizational structure from middle management down and is and has always been set up to fail. It's only because of the out of the box creative, forward thinking of the flight crews that Atlas is even in business right now, yet alone making record profits and growing into the biggest ACMI on the planet. Well, Purchase has sent a strong signal that they do not recognize the fact that we've been carrying this airline on our backs for decades and it's time to take the weight off our backs. Stop being creative, forward thinking, just be a dumb robot that does what your manuals tell you to do. Carry flight plan fuel, if you have to divert, divert. Don't creatively try and find an outside of the box way to accomplish the mission, it's not your job. When something's broke, write it up (who cares if it's an outstation and they don't have the light bulb) again, not your job. If you don't have cba required catering, don't move the jet (meal vouchers are for losers) and the list goes on. Let purchase see what it's like to have the outside of the box, abstract problem solving component of their crews taken out of the picture, let them feel the pain. Remember, JD and BF have publicly stated that they want to amalgamate our two POS contracts, they haven't once said they're looking forward to amalgamating their executive Atlas compensation with Southern's execs... STOP THE HYPOCRACY! be professional, do your jobs, leave nothing unturned.

This point is SPOT ON. This should be the "Cliffs Notes" playbook on what we need to do from this day forward until our CBA is ratified to our professional expectation. Not this amalgamated horse manure. Well said DC-8.

Just had to quote this again!

New hires need to understand that this is the environment we're in now. Once you're on the line, read your CBA, know when your rights are being violated, and contact the Stewards if you need someone to go to bat for you.

I'm sorry, I can't help myself with this one.

This is about OUR career, not selfish whining. I've served as a volunteer for this pilot group for 3 years, and most of the guys posting here are also committee volunteers. Get your mind right; we're spreading this information for the betterment of every single Atlas pilot, present and future.

I encourage anyone off IOE to find ways to contribute, as well (nothing confrontational until you're off probation).

Excellent post. If even half of us did this on a daily basis, the company would cave in a week.

It IS really that simple. All In!
