Skawid8,
what makes it recruiting talk points? Is the information I have provided invalid?
yes b737 guys aren’t flying much if at all. That being said based off of rig pay (and I’m being conservative at 70 hrs a month on average) would you not say that the statements above are accurate?
on that note check out the regional forums and see how much junior guys are flying. Endeavor has 5 months reserve waiting for ya.
b737 captain upgrade is now in 2020. Granted you’ll need the turbine time…
how do you figure it’ll be faster? Regional guys are sitting reserve. Flying isn’t forecast to reach 2019 levels until maybe 2025!
regionals lately also have been dropping like flies. We’ve had major regional pilot migration to atlas. How many of them have returned to the regionals after? :O
the environment today according to IATA is gonna stay for at least the next few years.
as for the people leaving…most are year one or two guys who have, in my opinion, either realized it’s not for them or have moved up to FedEx, UpS, United etc
sooo at worst you leave atlas with a Boeing type rating and more money in your pocket (no bonus bond here) and you go to a major….or you stay at one of the most diversified outfits on the planet, get a heavy type and a job that’ll pay 300k a year working AT most part time.
Hmmm
Ps: training is $1600 + $1900 for perdiem so = $3500
Do you know how much regional training pay is? It’s not $3500 a month. AND after 4 months you get paid FO pay. I remember training at my regional having lasted 6 months. Guess if they had the same deal…

Yes you get paid per diem but generally speaking that money is being used for food. Sure you can pocket a portion of it but to use that number to advertise a "monthly rate" isn't actually representative. I'm not sure comparing the training pay of a regional to that of the worlds largest 74 operator is a fair representation to the 74 crews. How about a comparison to a company at the same level or perhaps industry standard?
737 lines are back to 35-45h on average, but this fleet is no time builder for sure. I've been here for 1.5 years and I've flown 300h total.....
With that being said, this job is 1.7 million times better than any regional job out there. Quality of life, pay and you can bid 74/76/77 in 24 months after your seat-lock. But if 1000 TPIC and legacies are the goal, then a regional is the smart way to go. Suck it up, get your time, and move on.

With the full kitchen in the training hotel, there's no need to eat out every day.
Flying Benefits
In addition to the Health, Wealth, and Work Life Benefits, for Captains and First Officers, we provide a world of benefits and perks no matter which fleet you fly.
The above is directly from the “recruitment” AAWW site if you will. While “sunny” is a nice touch the “home-based” isn’t really even a stretch or reality by any means, just saying. Or did I miss something? Any Portion of any of our fleets “home-based?” (not the very scarce trips that have travel associated with day 1, etc.)
In addition to the Health, Wealth, and Work Life Benefits, for Captains and First Officers, we provide a world of benefits and perks no matter which fleet you fly.
- Comfort and flexibility of being home-based with a stress-free commute
- Company paid hotels in base, before/after trips and while on reserve
- Positive Airline tickets for your commute for those living more than 130 miles from their base
- Business Class for Domestic and International Travel while deadheading greater than 4.5 hours
- Typical schedules of 17 days on and 13 days off
- Company paid hotels during training in sunny Miami, FL

What are the available schedules for 767 at ONT regardless of seniority? Are Amazon's flights predominantly domestic? I live in Fontana literally 5 minutes from Ontario Airport. TBH it would be nice living in base at my hometown. Should i expect to be gone on the road during the whole line?

We are not home based. Home based would mean we travel on company time to/from trips…we do not.
Business class travel for domestic DH over 4.5 and for all international DH….”unless it’s not available”, which happens quite often because they wait until the last minute to book a lot of the time. They also don’t specify that gateway travel is not included in this…but HR thinks we’re home based, so I guess they don’t understand gateway.
”Typical schedules of 17 on 13 off”? Last bid package I saw for my fleet/base had most of the 30 day lines with 2-4 blocks of duty…and most of the 60 day lines with 3-5 blocks of duty.
I don’t think the last bullet point is even a positive….they can call Miami “sunny”…and for the most part, that’s accurate…but they should also add in “don’t be surprised if the wheels get stolen off your car in the hotel parking lot”…

The schedules available based on seniority vary month to month….the Hawaii turns are the most senior usually, but I think FO’s with 12-18 months seniority are holding them consistently.
That’s why I brought this forward as incorrect information to include old information. Obviously not Home Basing, 17 on duty and the rest off is 74 biased and even then it’s not just 1 string of work days but sometimes 2 trips within 30 days and 3-4 trips for 60 day lines. If it’s not Business or better, not my problem, not going…Also not going to address the Miami issues as they were covered previously, but it’s true your belongings can be MIA. See what I did there…
