On the 747 training is the opposite of drinking from a firehose.
By the time you hit the checking events, you are overprepared. They could cut the footprint in half and people would still pass.
Obviously, take training seriously, but it's totally different than let's say regional airline training is.

By SIT training are you referring to the Flat Panel Trainer (FPT) and Fixed base do you mean a full non motion sim or is that where you are referring to the FPT instead. Sorry just want to be fully prepared so I can make sure I know what I’m in for.
The videos seem like a MUST as this would be very useful information to have and I’m guessing help a lot with the oral. Again really appreciate the helpful responses, very much appreciated.
Again thank a million guys, super helpful information. Good to know you guys had plenty of time to prepare even if the training footprint is quite long. I guess it’s better than the Firehose approach as mentioned that the regionals do.

I am not sure if we have any 76s with the LDS mods already, but they are supposed to converting the non LDS birds over to LDS birds starting next year.
Wait until you get to trailing and grab aerowinx while there. Sit tight and weight until you get access to the CPATs then work on those and try to have them completed prior to Day 1 of Indoc and you will be good to go.

As far as selection of the aircraft you want to fly, how accommodating are they? Ideally I want the 747 first followed by the 777 but could they turn around and just say we want you on the 737 or 767? Not the end of the world I guess as you can change in 18 months I believe but I presume don’t say in an interview that ‘You won’t accept the 767 or 737’
Thanks for the help.
Its so good to hear that, the firehose treatment is really bad. Is there anything you would recommend I look at for the 747 with regards to flows, profiles, call outs etc? I realize it has been said there is enough time when you get there but just wondering if it’s worth getting a head start.
