With all these people in the pool I am worried how long it will take to get a class date. Anyone has any info on how they determine who goes into the next class, other than preferred airplane and availability? Is there some formula that puts you on the top of the pool?
Job fair 1/8
Test email 1/9
Phone interview 1/13
Took test 1/14 score 88%
Interview 1/20
Pool email 1/22
3 internal recs. Regional FO, 4,200 TT, 2,100 turbine SIC, 1,800 piston PIC (Cessna 402, BN-2 Islander, Cessna 172 CFI)

Well said. As in all things, perception is subjective and relative. I learned early on here not to be too vocal about how much better Atlas was than the last place I flew. Some didn't believe it and others just became irritated that I wasn't as angry as they were. Things could indeed be better and I think we have a good chance at attaining that goal. We will do that not by stomping our feet and holding our breath until we turn blue. Rather, it will be done by being professional and flying the current contract to the letter. In the meantime I intend to enjoy life as much as I can and Atlas is a pretty good place to do just that.
Now, I work for an ACMI carrier in a really caustic work environment and have learned how to put things in perspective commensurate with my last 5 years and current employer. I feel strong, positive and am ready to come to Atlas (pool letter 1/22, arm swimmies on) and begin this incredible journey with my new perspective. I am feeling very fortunate and blessed.
I cant help but think all of these events of the last 5 years haven't been to realign me to have a successful marriage and career. Looking forward to contributing to the pilot profession/brethren at Atlas and upholding the betterment of our contract.
Some people have mentioned that their email placed them in the "preferential" hiring pool, and others haven't used that term. So: Do all the good news emails say "preferential hiring pool"? If not, what does that term mean exactly to those that got it and those that didn't? Are those folks at the top of the list? Or are they on separate lists because they expressed a "preference" for one airframe over the other? Anyone know?
