I started class today and was able to get a little info from our Indoc Instructor. He had heard that my class was, at one point, going to be the last class for the rest of the calendar year. But, now, Atlas is planning 7 more classes through the end of the year; 5 classes of 12 and 2 classes of 10 for a total of 80 more trained. The last class is slated for December 5th. BTW, my class only has 8 students (not sure why).

I don't know how many more interviews they are going to conduct. Heard that there's around 40 people still swimming, and that's not counting those who just interviewed last week. Instructor mentioned they're screening out non-glass/FMS pilots. Maybe that's due to no more Classic training planned or that it reduces the 744 training by up to 3 days (if every student has a lot of glass experience)...or both.

If I heard my classmates correctly, 2 were February interviewees, 3 were March (myself included) and 3 were from April.

Good luck to all applying.

Welp, just going by "the numbers", that means about 280 more guys will get to interview.

That's assuming no poolies.

What should I expect as a first year FO for the take home? I understand the flying will be on a lot of international routes and would like to find out if the pay will be spent on expenses..
Also, do you have ZED benefits with airlines ? Have family overseas that I have been visiting almost every 3 months.

Thanks..

I was taking home about 2700 a month putting 15% in the 401k first. Per diem runs pretty steady around 800 a month (for 17 days). Pig out on the plane, we toss catering every landing. And about half the hotels include breakfast if you happen to be there at the right time. Once you make it through two months in MIA on 1200 a month (+ about 1500/month in per diem) the line shouldn't be a problem.

No ZEDs, there's some flat rate standby on Delta for 200 dollars a ticket. Not sure if that applies internationally.

I've been here a little over a year and thus far roughly half of my per diem each month has been put in the bank along with the paycheck. Of course, one can spend every dime of per diem out on the road but you have to be a glutton and a lush to do that. Wait! I just described the pilot fraternity to a "T". ;-) Suffice it to say that unless you are extravagant on the road your expenses will be covered by per diem.

My contact said there were just over 80 people in the pool as of two weeks ago, and they were planning a class a month for the next two years. That number wouldn't include anyone from this month's interviews, either. ... But, as we all know, everything is subject to change, and rumors will fly.

Hey all, I just got the bad FedEx a little while ago. I interviewed on June 16th.

For those of you still waiting to hear, I think if you make it through today with no FedEx, that is good news.

No telling what shot me down. I had some negative factors, no doubt. Lack of currency (about 18 months), 737 type from HPA, and NJA furloughee. Could have bombed one of the interviews as well, although I thought they all went great. Who knows how they weight things in the final tally.

Final stats for all interested:

Applied 3/25.
Phone Interview 5/30
Technical Assessment 6/1 (88)
Interview 6/16

TT 3500
PIC Turbine 1100 (C-5)
IP 75 (C-5)
Types: B737, CE-750, BE400/MU300, A320 (SIC)

Good luck to everyone trying to get on at Atlas! Good things are happening.
