Compared to somewhere like a regional which spoon feeds you, the 777 training is tough.

The washout rate is far from accurate for most pilots. For this who expect/need to be spoon fed they really should go to a regional. Atlas expects experienced pilots that can fly at ATP standards without handholding.

Potential new hire,

what are the junior bases for the 74/777? How quick can you bid out of them? Looking for JFK/MIA..

747, ANC is the new hire base and right now you can bid out before you are done with training.
Looks like a June hire is JFK based right now.

Don't know about the 777.

MIA is pretty senior. It'll be a while to hold that. JFK, as the previous guy said, is doable within 6mos to a year.

Actually Believe it or not to get into Miami is more junior compare to ORD, ORD, LAX, and IAH. You are just not going to gain much seniority there very quickly.

747, 777 doesn't have those other bases. 777 MIA is a week junior to 747 MIA.

I stand corrected. Times have changed!

Got the phone call in a week. Already prepping. Anyone recommend what to study for in regard to the technical test? Specific books that helped?

They will email you the study material a week before the technical interview. Mine was very relaxed, and more of a conversation. Nothing too crazy - but everything you need will be on the email. Good luck!
