Most of the hiring has been for the 400, a few have gone to the Classic. Who knows what the -8 delay will affect. Word is the -8s are going to GSS who leases some 400s from Titan which is part of AAWW Holdings. There have been rumors that the 400s would move to Atlas but GSS has ads out looking to hire because they're getting more planes.

I just got back from a trip...and there is no sign of a slowdown. We never had a slow down, even during the "slow period" of the year (which for us is Jan to May or so).

But that is mostly because we are understaffed (and Atlas likes it that way). However, the staffing ratio is improving and relieving some pressure off the schedulers (and the company) as we hire and train new guys/gals on the B744F.

I must also say that the company is aggressively out getting new work (TNT, LCF, pax) and posting record profits...

All that (and even the delayed -8F) spells good times for potential job-hunters that are considering Atlas as the next step (or the only step).

Keep plugging away at getting that foot in the door...and good luck.

Just heard from a friend of mine down in training, said the rumor was theres about 35 or so in the pool. When they start picking from the pool does it go buy the highest score or first group into the pool?

The 400's are actually from the Atlas side of the house -- not Titan -- and according to the company are going to be returned to the line at Atlas. Question is are they going to be replacing the classics or is it additional flying? Only time will tell when the first three 747-8's arrive at GSS.

I think it goes by highest interview score.

I was one of the lucky to interview last week. They told us that they pulled from the pool based on total score. They also said that they traditionally flush the pool after a year. They sure seem to run a nice operation; at least on the HR and training side. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
