Here's the deal: It's mostly because after answering the same question many times it would make more sense for folks to use the search function (upper right corner of the page) and find the answers. They are here. ;)

Many basic questions have already been answered ten times over so it would be nice for someone new to at least go over the last 50 pages or so. But having been new to this forum once, I'm glad 744driver suggested (many times) for new people to go read through the whole forum. It doesn't take a day but you get an insight you wouldn't get reading the last 50 pages. If you really want to be informed, it's a small sacrifice on your time is all :)

At some point, the "read the whole thread and then you can ask a question" has to go. The thread is getting a little long for that now. How about we start reposting the highlights list that someone made up and save everyone a week of reading junk.

Great Idea!

But be sure to include all of the questions that may appear during the phone interview, the online test, and the MIA interview as that is what they really need to see. Also you may want to include the many schedule samples and layover information that guys have posted because that question comes up frequently. I guess the information about gateway basing including the list of cities should be in there, too.

Oh, and the pay info with samples of first year pay would be nice. And, I've seen questions about the new contract so those answers would be nice as well as what we know about the current interview dates, new hire class dates, and future hiring announcements and best guesses.

I almost forgot that new thread readers have asked about interview hotel and transportation info, jumpseat, mil leave, rumored new equipment, anticipated retirements, current equipment stats and hubs, recent interview successes, regular layover cities, historic and current company financial performance, hotel and airline point info, past, current, and future customers including their frequency and equipment, pax/FA info, union info, Mac vs PC info, how to create a PDF, and where to find the PAQ.

There are a number of Atlas guys who regularly post here who answer these same questions time and time again often with information which have been very recently posted. They will thank you for your efforts as they surely must want to post new information instead of repeating themselves so frequently.

And maybe you'll want to repost all of your hard work once every couple of pages because when a new pilot logs on they shouldn't have to go too far back to get all of this data.

Last, but not least, try to convey the general attitude that Atlas pilots seem to have. The tone of this long thread feels pretty helpful and upbeat about the pilot group and the company and clearly demonstrates the unimaginable patience that many Atlas pilots have with helping the new guys. I think that will be important to put in the new post.

And thanks for doing all this. Lord knows, I'd do it but I'm a little busy right now ...

... or newcomers could just sit down in a comfy chair with their favorite beverage, start at page one, and get a real feel for the company and the job. It's a good gouge and even in this era of instant gratification, really doesn't take all that much time or effort (especially with the previously mentioned search function!).

Plus, I'm a really funny guy and they'd miss out on all my awesome humor!

Atlas Air Hiring

Congrats to Brett, Barticus, and NightIP! I was in the group with y'all. Didn't get the call for the "immediate positions," but hoping to hear that I'm in the pool soon.

Hahahahahahhahah.....

You all realize that this page will now be included in the YOU MUST READ THE ENTIRE THREAD!!!! ??

70%+ of this thread is worthless. I've read it (the vast majority anyway).

All of you who constantly moan and whine that people need to read over 5,402 posts do realize that you are stating the same questions have been answered 10 times???

"Many basic questions have already been answered ten times..." Yeah, because that's worth reading?! The same answer ten times?

There's LOTS of great info in there. And I appreciate people taking the time to answer, and YES it is frustrating when people randomly post, "What's Atlas like?" on this thread....

But stop being such d-bags. The last FIFTY pages have been largely nothing more than "Anyone get a call?" and "I started class today!"
Yeah, REAL great reading. Get over it already.
