Atlas Air Hiring
#841
It's 14 days of vacation a year to start but those days don't count one for one against your 17. If you take all 14 days in one month, you still may work up to 10 days that month. Don't know if the new contract will change this.

Any idea of how many they are looking to hire this year? From what I can tell- seems like that the pool is getting empty. Be a good time to get onboard. Great thread wish I found it earlier.

Skipdragon I am in the -200 class starting on the 28th see you in MIA>
Cheers,
Cargo
Any idea if they've filled the 2/28 class? \
From the postings here, it looks like there are at least 5 pilots on this board that are in the Feb 28 class.
skipdragon
abuesing
cargowannabe
rhinoflier
pwr1830
I don't know if the other 3 pilots slots have been filled for the Feb 28 747/400 class or even if those pilots are on this board.

I know I'm going to be told to just look thru the post on here (which I plan on doing) but since I just got off of the phone with the lady from atlas and she is sending me the link to the online assessment do any of you have quick run down on things I should study before I take the test?
Thanks in advance

However, several guys have posted a list of questions that were on the test that they took...and it is only a few pages back.
But you should read the entire thread, if only to know what you are getting into. And then if you have questions, I (as well as others) will be glad to help in any way I can.
Good luck.

Love to sandman-
This company wants you to be relaxed. They want an honest picture of who you are.
1. They are going to see if you can put thoughts to paper- essay not difficult, just an opinion paper.
2. They want to see if you have the experience that you put on your resume. Know what is on the paper and be able to talk about your experience.
3. Panel - Be honest. It doesn't matter if you had a parking ticket as long as you are an honest person and admit it shouldn't be a problem. Know how you would deal with conflict in the cockpit. CRM Brother.
We all sold our soul to the Devil long ago in this business. Love who you are and what you do. Be sure that you want this job and understand what it is to be away from home. If it’s not for you they will know. This is a big investment for them. They want to know if you are going to leave in a few months for Jet Purple or whatever the flavor of the month is.
This is a solid company with a big future. I hope to be a part of the future success. Number one thing I would say is be yourself and be honest.
Hope this helps

Thanks TT. That has been pretty much what I have heard about the interview.
Is it pretty safe to say then that it's not very focused on the technical aspect? Don't get me wrong. I've been doing lots of studying, but I want to focus my effort and use my time wisely studying the right stuff. In other words, should I be reading Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators or know how to build a CRJ?

Be ready and confident and you wont have any problems.
The Technical is there, they are just laid back. I am not sure how they grade, could be misleading. Don't forget about the HR standard questions.
I have not received the call or the Fed Ex letter, only been a week so keep in mind that I could be way off.
I do know that you will have fun and they will make it a good experience.
Stay at the recommended hotel and talk to some line Capt, they are all over. You will get a good feeling of the climate and that people that are there are happy. There will always be the grumpy ones but all in all I was impressed.
