Atlas Air Hiring

MIA is about in the middle seniority wise. from a quick glance is looks like this order from junior to senior:
ANC
HSV
CVG
LAX
MIA
JFK
PAE
IAH

there might be a slight variance to that list, plus or minus one spot but with the exception of ANC, which is way junior, and PAE and IAH which are really senior, the rest are able to be held around the 1 year to 1.5 year mark currently.

Is Atlas going to do the right thing and give preferential hiring to the ABX crews sure to be furloughed as the result of their local 1224 "brothers" underbidding and "stealing" ABX's flying?

I have read a couple different answers on this huge thread, but what is the story with the MIA base? I live down this way so if I was able to get picked up I would prefer to eventually be down here. As of today is it senior? junior? thanks

MIA has been fairly senior, but there has been a lot of movement lately so it's going a little more junior these days.
MIA is only a 74 base and the most junior 74 FO was hired 04/22/13 and has 78 pilots below him.

Great information! thanks. I will admit that I have not combed through the thread for information regarding good study material for the tech test or any other interview related study guides, I am starting that right now:confused:. So if anybody feels like throwing me some good info, awesome! if not, im searching away:) Seriously though, thanks for all the quick answers and great info. Most other threads, especially over on the regional boards get you barked at for asking a question that was asked a year ago.

There are some pages that have a key explaining what previous info is available on which pages. Lot of info on the test here. The test is not easy. Just heard from an experienced pilot who was very gung ho on Atlas...he failed the test.

The local 1224 "brothers" did not underbid or steal anything. Management did that. And DHL continues to plot everyone against eachother in order to save money. Don't blame pilot, nobody wants people to lose jobs. I sincerely hope the local 1224 is working closely with management to set up preferential hiring like they have for World Airways.

What SVA402 said. Don't confuse management with we working freight dogs. We don't sit in on the meetings on Mt. Olympus where these things are hashed out. We just deal with the fallout. To be clear: No Atlas pilot plotted to steal ANYTHING from another brother pilot. Never have, never will. I sincerely do know that any ABX folks who wish to work here will be welcomed with open arms. I would imagine that the same efforts will be expended on their behalf that were done for the World folks who found themselves in the same situation.

Wow, are you just trolling these boards to do what you just did?!!

See SVA402's perfect answer to your jab...shame, shame.

It is great to see growth at one's own outfit...but NEVER at the cost of jobs at another. At least, not from a working stiff's point of view. However, management is usually not burdened by how their decisions affect real families with real problems.

Our seniority list, from top to bottom, is filled with pilots from every failed, failing, furloughing, etc airline out there...so, please don't think for a minute that the Union will not take every step necessary to get these guys on board...especially since we are in the same IBT Local.

The very least you guys could do to show some sympathy to your fellow Teamster brothers would be to boycott bidding the "new" jets.
