Southern Air Interview

"They will find someone to move DHL's freight even if SAI can't. There is a newly acquired airline in Florida that will assure that"
Florida West doesn't have 737s. But let's say southern gives them their 737s. Now they need pilots. If Florida West has the same or worse contract, how will they get any pilots?
The pilot shortage is making it harder and harder for HR to get enough bodies, at all levels...and it's only going to get MUCH worse!

Two 737 new hire classes for April, and now the pool is empty.
Three more new hire classes to be filled for May. Also, we will now give job offers on the day of the interview.
Still not paying for your ticket to CVG, or providing a hotel room for the interview. Still no home basing for 737 guys, still no 401(k) match, still no profit sharing, but the company bought everyone two tickets to the Reds game on May 14th. Just stop by HR and pick yours up. Still no DL jumpseat. Still no customers other than DHL. Still the same....

A SAI 737 type rating class of 7 started on the 13th.
The question is how many will stay after getting their type rating?
Anyone, anyone?
Beware the sim, from what I have heard it is rather idiosyncratic, so it might be better to get your type at a different place, FWIA maybe?

Quick upgrades and Check Airmen positions will be available if you have the skills. As always, read thoroughly the previous posts so you know what you are getting into. Don't come here and then ***** because it is not FedEx or Delta. Whiners need not apply. It just gets tiresome listening to them or reading their drivel on here.
From the Chief Pilot 14 April.
"A new hire class of 7 - 737 FO’s started on APR 13th.
We have a 737 new hire class scheduled for;
April 20th - 3 to 4.
May 4th - 6 - 737.
May 25th - 10 - 737.
May 25th - 16 – 777.
Planning on 12 -737 in June and a few more in July
We have interviews scheduled for two weeks in April. We will have more interviews in May.
The 5th 737 should be on line in June or July. We are still planning on the 5th 777 in the upcoming months.
We will have more upgrade bid awards on the 737 soon. With the current bidding trends, I believe that this award will reach pilots with less than one year seniority".
