Southern Air Interview

If one is unemployed, then you might have a point.
If one has a job, the people who are in a position to know are telling you that you don't want to quit it and go to Atlas (nee Southern).
And for those who are out of work, the opportunities for enjoying livable wages, upgrades, and flow-throughs at regional carriers have never been better. So why seek out known moderate or worse turbulence, when there are plenty of chances to operate in smooth air?
Nobody is trying to trick you, and keep all the good flying for themselves. Its a constant, universal warning to avoid Atlas because current and forecast conditions are not favorable.

I talked to one of my buddies yesterday on the inside and he told me they are hurting for 777 pilots, which he can't understand why they haven't announced a new hire class yet. He seems to think there is a bottleneck going through training. I'm starting to get really frustrated as well. I really want to email HR again but I know that won't do me any good... So im applying elsewhere while I sit and wait...

There will not be any additional classes for the 777 until another aircraft is planned or attrition picks up. The fleet will be a little overstaffed once the current crop of OE is complete. The November new hires are done with OE and online and the January new hires are beginning OE. Excess crews are sitting reserve at some of the stations. The open time that is being posted is due to Scheduling try to play a 3 pilot/4 pilot game.
