There is NOTHING wrong with having only a 12 (industry standard) year pay scale, a 10 yr or less one would be even better. The lower the longevity pay scale the more money extracted from the company. Top pay is top pay and the sooner any individual reaches it the better IMO.

Unless the top pay is $213 an hour to command a 747 and you haven't had a raise in 6 years.

If you have to ask the question "how much flight time is competitive" You don't have a competitive amount of flight time.
