Gonna be based in MCO this summer and we are thinking about moving down from South Carolina. Any recommendations of places that are on the coast as well as commutable for reserve (2 hour drive)?
We have always lived on the coast so we don't want to live inland. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Do you mean literally on the beach, or on a barrier island, or within a few minutes drive of such?
Daytona is about an hour away from MCO, and Melbourne is about the same in the opposite direction.
Your choices are Brevard County and Volusia County. I think VC has higher taxes, but fact check that. Titusville is cheap but it is also not right on the coast either, even though it sort of is (see map).
There is a TON of land available in Volusia County that is rural and only a few minutes drive from the beach. But if you don't have it zoned agricultural then the taxes are almost unaffordable. And of course there is always Spruce Creek fly-in community if you're rich lol
I have a lot of time in the area, if you have questions, ask.

Also, whatever you do you don't want to live in Orange County, the place sucks. Osceola, just south of the airport isn't too bad, mostly middle class Latino. Seminole is the working upper middle class area and has the best schools.
