135 to 121 game?
been lurking for quite awhile, finally had a reason to join and write something of use.
I'm currently 2800tt with 1300TPIC, but all of it in 135 under 12.5 mostly be20. Do to being at the top of this current company now, or as high as i can get being all part owners above me. Im forced into exploring other options available. Seeing that pay rates are finally coming up in comparison to fast food, is making the 121 world more appealing. Although there would still be a pay cut from where i am now, and that is fine if i dont have to suffer it too long. After speaking with a friend at a regional, he recommended I update my resume and times and toss em out to Spirit, Frontier, Sun Country ect..
What Im having trouble finding, and starting to fear is that none of my current time is really worth anything. Which if its the case wouldnt be the end of the world, but still a bummer. Understanding that 1000hrs with company or 121 is needed for upgrade. Would it be unreasonable to expect to get that rather soon at a regional? or are there any companies that may take my current times into account as acredit towards time spent with them? would Spirit, allegiant, frontier be beyond what my resume currently qualifies me for?
any insight is welcomed, thanks

Apply only where you want to work. If you want to work at American, then apply there and nowhere else. Its your market. This belongs to you. You have ownership. Seize it. Take it.
The training departments at some of the less reputable, less safe, regional carriers cannot be trusted.
They are taking hostages and cannot be trusted.

I would suggest getting any recommendations you can from people at the places you're interested in and maybe attending a job fair to show that you're serious. Keep updating and applying. The metrics seem to change almost daily, and what's competitive one day for a carrier might be different the next. You never know when your app will come up all 7's.
I came over to 121 after 10 years in 135 and I don't miss it for a second! Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the insight so far! I didn't mean I wanted to jump straight to the top if that's how it came across. Ideally I'd like to get on with a company that I could see a future with, and not just a stepping stone type gig. Which basically would mean skipping over the regionals, but by no means am I opposed to starting there if need be. Unfortunately for me I have very few airline contacts, but I've been reaching out to the few I do know for advice as well. First things first is get all my logs sorted and broken down so I can update the resume.
Any other companies outside of basics regionals you guys think wouldn't be beyond me?
Game plan is along these lines.. get paperwork in order and reach out to contacts, submit resumes to ideal carriers, maybe give it 6mo to 10mo? Then suck it up and let the flood gates open with regional recruiters..? Thoughts, opinions, and recommendations on that are also appreciated!

Frank assessment... your current qualifications are not competitive for any job where you'd want to stay for a career.
You might able to get on at spirit, frontier, allegiant, etc. But you have to decide whether your best path forward requires 121 PIC. If so, regionals will make that happen much sooner (essentially DEC right now). If you don't think you'll need PIC, then a third tier major might hire you. But many of those places have self-study training programs designed for 121 pilots with three type ratings... if you don't have glass/jet type you could easily accumulate a pink slip or wash out. Most regionals will spoon-feed you 121 and a type, since they have to cater to CFI's.
I would however apply to any major you'd be interested in working at, you never know plus some of them give extra credit for sustained long-term interest. Start with SWA... they have recently hired prop pilots.
