Default 2300 TT A320 Type 1100 Multi Turbine

ALL PART 91 so far. Who would this be marketable to in the airline world? I understand I have zero 121 time. I really would prefer to avoid the regionals. What would you recommend? Thanks for you time.

Regionals, and maybe the U/LCCs or ACMIs...

Regionals yes. ULCC maybe.

Big-six, second tier majors, not likely. 2300 TT is very low unless it's in a fighter.

Type with no time adds little value (unless it's a 737 type and you're applying to SWA).

As a 91 guy, you're going to need 6k-8k and a few types to be in the ballpark. If you want to do airlines, go to a regional and rack up some fast 121 TPIC.

Mostly Corporate and some flying jumpers, King Airs, some twin Otter, Cheyenne II, Beech 99, Ex Military (did not fly in military). 4 year degree. Built and sold several Aviation businesses. Married, two kids. QOL and corporate culture are more important than money.

The MEL time is King Air, Beech 99, Twin Otter and Cheyenne III? With no 121 time?

Realistically it’s low odds to get on with one of the Big3(4?) airlines. The typically civilian OTS has 5500+, 3000+ PIC, several type ratings, and 121 experience.

Regionals would take you in a heartbeat. Three or four years at a regional would be a much stronger resume.

Everyone would love to skip the regionals. Few can. It’s the primary supply chain to the majors. It is what it is.

ACMI might be another avenue. Or Allegiant.

How do the various choices fit in with the family plans? What’s the long term goals?

By all means apply to everyone you’re interested in. Let them decide if you are qualified.

2300 TT was possible before the contract with a little 121 but average hiring statistics posted by the company are 6,000TT and 2,500 TPIC with the lowest civilian TT in recent times at 3,000. Maybe try F9 before they get a TA?

Realistically the OP will have to put in at least a year at a regional before getting on with a LCC or legacy. The good news is 1st year regional pay is 3X what it used to be a few years ago.

Coprate culture shouldn’t even be on your radar as criteria for an airline job. It’s all the same job and you are a cog in the machine with a part number not a name. Pay and qol and who’s willing to hire you should be the only concern. Corporate culture is great to use in an interview. HR probably loves that. It means nothing in reality in 121

You may be a good fit for Everts Air Cargo. Initially in their EMB120 program, which is a Part 135 operation. The EMB is currently flying out of Laredo, Tx. After a while, you could matriculate into their Part 121 operation flying MD-80s.
