Hello to all who read this!

I’ve posted a couple times now, as I’ve been doing some soul searching (job searching) I’ve been hearing it from everyone, I know CFI is the best route to go, and I think I’d be a decent instructor, but I’m scared of the grueling checkride, yada yada.

From the guys who have been in my shoes, what is the best course/path/method you’ve used to becoming a CFI?

King schools? Gleim? I saw that King Schools has a “pass your oral and checkride the first time or your money back!” And I’m wondering if they are any good.

Any good online courses? And I’m sure all these questions have been answered somewhere else, but I wasn’t able to find anything.

I have CASEL, CAMEL and instrument btw, so you don’t have to wonder. And I’m using Sheppard air for the written exams, (never failed me before) so I’m not worried about that.

Maybe an all inclusive, condensed course? If so, they should teach you what you need to know to pass the CFI checkride.

 

I wouldn’t worry about the checkride. Yes it is very difficult but as long as you are prepared it shouldn’t be difficult. Being prepared ultimately depends on how thorough you study and how good of an instructor you find to help you through it. If I were you I would create all my lesson plans, both ground and flight, get all of your written test done, and then start meeting with a flight instructor. I found gleims flight instructor flight maneuver book to be very helpful for both the ground and the flight lesson plans. Also another thought is that you may want to do a little bit of prep work and getting your lesson plans together and then meet with the instructor for a few lessons just to make sure you are on the right track with how you are organizing your material. When choosing an instructor I would choose somebody who is not going to leave you for the airlines and someone who is what I call a professional instructor, someone who is teaching to teach and not build hours.
