Default BA degree to work in the majors?

This question is directed to pilots who fly for a major airline. Do you have a BA degree and if so what is it in and is it an online one or a normal one?

A 4 yr degree is required for all of the legacy airlines but not all of the majors. Doesn’t matter what it is in and online is okay as long as it is from an accredited university.

First time I hear this. From where did you get this piece of information?

Yes in the US most employers will not count a degree unless it is accredited by US agencies. Folks from overseas sometimes have problems if they have a 3-year degree, or the education format was different than the US accreditation authorities require.

At some US majors, you odds of getting without a degree are zero.

At most of the best US majors your odds are very low, like 1-2% and only if you have exception aviation credentials.

A few don't require it all, but they are not what is considered top tier. Still could be a good career though.

What I meant is,I haven’t heard that the degree must be in art or in science, I thought it could be in anything

If you don’t have a degree, s’all good. Just get on with a regional that fly’s the 175 and call yourself mainline.
