AirlineApps Total 121 Time
#1
AirlineApps asking for Total 121 Time. It is not explicit in the online instructions how this is defined. Do they want actual flight time only, or 121 training/simulator time included in that total as well? TIA.

x2. Flight time only. IOE counts though, since it's a required crew member in a real plane.
Regardless of regs about the applicability of sim time to aeronautical experience requirements, in the real world employers want ONLY real airplane time listed in total time or other flight time categories.
If they want sim time, there will be a separate column for that. You can put it on your resume if you want, but keep it separate. I don't have room for it, nor do I bother to log 121 sim time.

That's a pretty narrow-minded statement. I know a lot of guys, including myself, that logged very little 121 time prior to 9-11, then switched to Part 91 flying. 5000 hours later in Citations and Gulfstreams, I have several majors interested with interviews. I want to be sure my 'low enough' 121 time is accurate.
Cheers to Part 91 and Military guys with low 121 time.
Thanks to the rest of you for the information. Some of us have Lived Life.
Just sayin'.

I don’t agree. What I said was:
I frequently get as many 121 hours on a single trip as the number of sim hours it took me to get my type rating for 121. If you believe the number of hours in a single week’s worth of 121 flying will make the difference in whether or not a major will invite you to an interview, I think you are perhaps assuming a precision to the process that isn’t much seen in practice, although I’ll grant you that some milestones (like 1000 TPIC) might help you with scoring by computer algorithm.
But by all means, provide accurate information.
Oh, and I’m glad you Lived Life. So have we all.
