For anyone who has started at the airlines or switched employment coming from a higher paying job,. What did you do to bridge the gap in low pay.... In the first 1-3 yrs?
Regional Captain to fo, corporate to fo, military to fo.......?
Especially with the ultra low training pay for the first few months....?

Unless you are going to Hawaiian, aren’t the first year scales doable now?
Anyhow, took the hit going from corporate. Looked into Uber and Lyft but found myself pretty worn out trying to have a few days off and commuting.
So basically we cancelled subscriptions we didn’t need (cable for one), sold the toys (bike/boat), sold a few rifles, and basically really watched what we spent our money on (Evan Williams instead of Woodford).
You’d be surprised where you can save a few bucks here and there.
And we still don’t have cable.

Get a crappy crash pad in a rough area. Meet some undesirable females. Make it a brothel.

He didn’t go to jail so I’d expect the juice would be worth the squeeze.

Dave Ramsey program. Aggressively eliminate debt to make the most out of what you are bringing home. 6 months worth of car lease payments can get you a fine airport beater car you can drive for years so ditch the car lease. Sell everything but the kids. Pizza delivery or whatever else you need to add income.

When the time came to make the move to the majors there was a five year B scale. We sold one car. Sold our house and moved into a small apartment and reduced other spending where we could. There is no easy method.
