All you need to to know on acronyms. I never “initialism”; acronym is the word for using the first letters.

When was the last time you went outside and talked to anybody? I wasn't aware that your personal knowledge (or lack thereof) of acronyms determines what is common or not. if you don't get it, it's not common. But you use one, everybody should understand it. Languages change over time and your inability to keep up is nobody's problem but your own.

Your baby boomer hypocrisy is leaking.

Already contributed to the subject of the thread, brightspark. Post 5. It may have gone over your head.

This turn is your doing, and one you won't leave alone. You entered the thread for no other purpose. Have you nothing to contribute?

As far as going outside, yes. I have several weeks home, as the job often allows, and just spent a week with my son, home from the marine corps, replaced a car window regulator, replaced a windshield, changed oil on vehicles, shot in several pistol competitions, ate out a lot, fixed two showers, hit a few movies, took the wife on a few dates, went on a vacation trip and whale watching cruise, played with the dogs, attended one son's graduation, completed a degree, reloaded some ammuntion, built two guns, and am relaxing this afternoon before the wife tunes in with her honey-do's. Not that I really care, but I trust you've kept occupied, or does your youthful entitlement dictate otherwise?

Are guys listing all their sim training, ground recurrent etc. in the education portion of airline apps?! If so, I clearly need to add that but thought it was pretty much a given, aka I worked there, have that type, dates of employment etc.. Is it me or is that not a given? If not I'll certainly add it. Thoughts?

Not necessary if included in company training at a 135/121. They ALL have their own training programs, and their all slightly different.

If the operator wants all training, you might list it, but in most cases, they're looking for relevant training. Generally only formal education and type-specific.

If you've been flying for an airline, it's obvious that you've been through their training, recurrent, etc. If you've been flying for a corporate department, you. might cite the flight safety or simulflite date for a type, but be reasonable. If you attended home depots bob-the-builder paint mixing class, it probably doesn't need to be on there. If it's relevant and it helps your position, by all means.

If it's something that could come back to bite you later if revealed, then it needs to be revealed up front. You might have flunked out of Suzy Sainthouse's School of Scaled Ballet and done a career change; list the school. Maybe.

If you happened to miss one of your flight safety international recurrent classes, probably not a big deal, because it's a given that you would have been attending them if you've already cited the training for that employer.

If you've been hired and forgot to put it there, or have received a conditional job offer ("CJO" for the selfie-snapping children here), the company has already made their decision based on the information that you provided and you're aboard. At this stage, unless it's something that will surface and torpedo you later, and especially if it's something that would only be of ancillary work in painting a better picture of you to help you get the job, let the sleeping dog lie. It's had a hard day.

It was a while ago, but IIRC, DAL wanted training events like initial, transition, and upgrade events listed in education history.

I KNOW, it should be clear that when you list an employer, especially a regional it should be rather self explanatory.

Thank you for sharing your life. Nobody cares that you do what everybody else does- you should consider signing up for a twitter account!

So I'll ask again- what is the problem with other people using acronyms when you use them yourself? I can't seem to get an answer other than "everybody should know what my acronym means"

You're the one who asked if I get outside and talk to people, genius.
