Default Misdemeanor B

If I was cited for Disrupting a public meeting while protesting climate change at my state capitol which is a citation when you even utter words to disrupt a meeting how would that affect an interview/hiring being a class b misdemeanor. How would it affect you if you continued to protest and had more than one?

One you MIGHT get away with. A couple and you are toast at the majors. Regionals probably no big deal.

You do realize this will probably be the last industry to ever wean itself from fossil fuels, right?

Why not protest legally without breaking the law?

The law isn't evenly applied.

Sometimes people weaponize the law against their political opponents. I know people who were arrested, charged, etc simply because they opposed or spoke out against someone in a position of power.

It happens.

It’s ironic you want to be an airline pilot when commercial jets are the next target for climate change alarmists. If I were you, I’d give that some serious thought to that before investing lots of time and money into this career.

The right to protest is protected by the U.S. Constitution.
If you endanger others while protesting, you can be arrested. A protest that blocks vehicular or pedestrian traffic is illegal without a permit. You do not have the right to block a building entrance or physically harass people.

There are legal and peaceful protests all over the country everyday. It’s not hard to stay within the law.

It’s not a zero sum game for me. I absolutely love flying and am a CFI. I feel very conflicted every day. I picked up the misdemeanor as a police liaison for the group protesting. I know that flying is a dirty habit I also want to do what I can to make a difference. I know people have all kinds or different position s and that is totally ok I was mostly just checking in to see if people had personal knowledge in hiring departments etc what it would mean and when to know I’m at the limits of having a chance to get a job. If it’s dumb to you that people protest it’s ok it’s also not exactly what I’m asking.

Everybody makes choices. But pouring time and effort into a career you are going to disqualify yourself from isn’t a brilliant choice.

Even the wrong stuff on your social pages may keep you from getting some jobs though. HR won’t TELL YOU that’s why you are not getting the call, but it it will be.

You have obviously never been involved in any serious level of activism.
