I have always wanted to fly for my career and I am ready to make a career move and never look back. Question- am I to old for this move. Thanks in Advance.
Do you have retirement hacked? I mean large 401k balance, no debts, any pensions other than SS; if so, go for it. If not, you’ll never make up the lost income when you’re at current peak earnings.

Not too old for a regional. Might even make it to a major if that's on your bucket list but not for long enough to make any huge bank.

I have already been through all three check rides although they were tough, they weren’t that bad. I spoke with a DE and he gave me me a list of things to study up on. I just wasn’t sure if I really needed to do it.

I’ve been away for 8 yrs just finished my IPC in the old family trickster (Saratoga) and loved every minute of it. It all came back pretty quick. Thanks for your input.

Again, if you're actually going to instruct, then go get your CFI reinstated. If not, then just go up with a safety pilot and get some instrument time logged. GL

Family and Job situation back in the early 90 drove me out of the field, but it never gets out of your system. 55 years old and 26 years in engineering and the retirement is set.....TIME TO GO FLYING. Just completed the BFR and going for the IPC then I'll be looking for that first paying load of rubber dog s###.

And one more example why there’s no shortage. There are oodles of ex-mil, corporate, sidelined pilots that will come running as pay rises.

More reason for the OP to get their 'ducks in a row' so to speak. Get current and start applying to get in on this hiring wave. Time is of the essence.
