Default Overseas Advice

I am working on my CPL in Florida. I am planning to go overseas to complete 1500 hours. I have a couple of questions below:

1) Where should I apply to become a pilot at South America with 250 hours (I am a US citizen)?
2) Should I take single engine or multi engine? I am thinking to apply single engine and plan to become a CFi. At the same time, apply to overseas to become a first officer. When they request, I will complete the multi engine.

Do you have any suggestions?

Most countries in Latin America require you to be a citizen of that country. Some countries, such as Chile, have hired foreigners but even with a family member with very high connections at LATAM, I couldn’t get an interview.

Copa has hired foreigners with 1000 hours total time minimum.

Belize “hires” foreign pilots but it’s mostly pay to fly.

Your best bet is to stay in the US. You could go to a US territory such as flying for Star Marianas or going to Puerto Rico or USVI, if you’re looking for an overseas type of experience.
