Leaving policing to get into airlines

Not sure what this is. I got an Honorable discharge with RE-1.
Little update for anyone who cares. I got my commercial last month. I'm currently at 550 hours and continuing to build time. I got put on night shift at work, so it makes it little harder, but it is what it is.
I applied with Tropic Ocean and hoping for the best. I started monitoring fb groups and everyone seems so desperate to get any job. I will keep building hours and see what happens. I'm getitng my seaplane rating and multi done in april. We'll see what happens.
I'll come back in a few months with an update

Things are a bit slow at the moment but this is definetely a "buy low" industry... keep builiding quality time and your ship will come in. Especially if you stick it out when others chicken out.

After 27 years in Law Enforcement, I'm getting ready to hang up the uniform and switch to my second career as a commercial pilot. Being a pilot had always been my childhood dream but life took me in another route. Now that my wife and I are empty nesters, she convinced me on April 2023 that it was time for me to pursue my dream.
Fast forward to today and at the age of 51 years old, 12 months after I commenced flight training, I have a CSEL certificate, instrument rated and this Sunday is my CMEL checkride. I already passed the oral, but due to weather, it's been canceled 3 times.
Once I get my CMEL, I'll commence my CFI/II training full bore then start my road to 1,500 hours as a CFI/II.
It's never too old to pursue your dream and I've served the community for 27 long years. It's time to serve them doing what I really am passionate about.

Keep the group up to date with your career progression. It will serve as a model for others that want to follow your path.
