Question How to find speeding tickets?

I'm older (career changer) and have had several speeding tickets in my life, the last one being just over 5 years ago.

As I'm applying to the airlines now it is asking for this information. I have no idea on the specifics of these things, is there a place I can look it up? Or does it even matter anymore?

Generally, you'll need to go to the clerk of the court website in thr city or county in which you received the tickets. Most have online searchable portals these days, and you can put your name in and see what comes up.

This can be a little tricky, depending on where you got your tickets. A city kitty will generally cite you into city court. A county Mountie will usuall cite you into a county justice court. A full-grown (Statie) will usually cite you into the county justice court where they got you, as they work all over.

If you just cannot find it despite honest efforts, chances are they can't either. Push comes to shove, make your best guess if you can't find the records.

The older your tickets are, the less relevant they are in hiring impact. Recency and frequency might require some explanation.

In most states you can request a copy of your driving record. Date, location, etc will be included in the information. Really old tickets may not show up, as it is not unusual for the databases to be purged after so long. So the 5 year one might show up, but one from 10 years will not. Most likely, the state database will be the same thing that an employer checks. Give your local state licensing agency a call and they should be able to tell you have to get a copy of your driving record, and maybe tel you how long tickets stay on your record.

I was able to request my driving history from the states I had held a DL in. If it didn't show up on any of them, I didn't include it in my Airline Apps profile.
