Default Study material for returning to flying

I’ve been without a medical for 5 years and hope to get it back at the end of this year. I’m 47 yrs old. 5000hrs TT, corporate pilot but I’m open to any flying opportunities. What’s the best way to get up to speed during this year, and also to be able to meet the requirements for a job. Any material you could recommend studying as a refresher? For pilots who returned to work after time off what helped you? Thanks

Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot is a great book/app. 121/91 regs for fuel, alternate, IFR, etc. Jeppesen plate briefing review. Stuff like that. Good luck.

I don't think there's a "best" way to get back into it, but I'm sure you have notes, study materials, and things you used to stay current and study, before. Those may be worth a review.

There are courses and programs geared toward CFI renewal, flight reviews, and so on, available from Gleim, Sporty's, etc. These are printed, videos, and online courses, to get a general overview of aviation, or a refresher. It's probably a good idea to go get a fresh flight review, and an instrument proficiency check. Somewhere in there, hit the bricks.
