PRIA Questions
Filling out pre-interview paperwork. Form 8060-11 & 11A are to be sent to previous employers with whom I've held a pilot position. My past pilot positions are self-employed contractor and before that pt. 91 aerial survey with no formal training program . There was a file at my previous employer with a copy of my certificate, medical, and insurance information in it and that was it.
Do I still fill out the information to have these forms sent to myself and this employer with whom I had no real "file?"
Also, on Form 8060-12 that goes to every employer for the past 5 yrs with whom I had a drug screen: I've never had a job that required a pee test. Never taken a pee test either. I guess just take this blank copy back to the interview with me?

What info can be given in PRIA? I was under the impression that it was just training and job performance stuff (i have submitted the paperwork before and all i ever recieved back was my training records...)but I had an employer state in a contract that if we resigned prior to our contract completion we would be subject to disapline via PRIA report. Is that something that can be put on there, breaking a training contract?

Yeah, I read the directions and plan to follow the directions, thanks for your vote of confidence. Guess I'll take my questions elsewhere.

Only 121/135 operators are required to use PRIA for the pilots they hire.
The PRIA requires that the paperwork go to ALL previous pilot employers (within 5 years I think?). This includes 91/135/121 operators, and probably anybody you contracted out to (I suspect this last one is not enforced).
These employers have to furnish all records about the pilot, if they have any. A 91 operator might not have any training records at all...but you still have to send the form. Also discipline records are required, but only those which apply to flight duties, ie not such things as attendance, insubordination, etc.

If it is (always request your copies), and you get denied a job, you just won the lawsuit lottery.
However, a company can always call another company for a reference check...that's not prohibited or protected by PRIA. What the previous employer discloses is up to him...he just can't send it in response to PRIA.

what I have heard as far as training contracts go with pria - is that there is a section that asks if the employee is eligible for rehire - if you break the training contract they'll simply say "no." So its a matter of not burning bridges if you leave early - will it affect you? maybe not - does it look bad? It might. I'd stick out the training contract unless its REAL bad and you have an offer on the table.
