i did, and it took about 8 weeks, but had every detail in it. Some airlines may do the short request which just shows the certificates you hold, and if any action has been taken against your certificate, but the complete file shows everything from certificates, actions, written test results, certificate approvals/disapprovals, etc. |

What if you've been with an employer longer than 5 years? For example, I have been with my current airline for 7 years. During the first year I was with the airline (2006) I busted a proficiency check. Because this was 6 years ago, if and when I apply to another airline will this show up in my training records that they will see? Or is it thrown out since it was more than five years ago? Thanks.

I read through the entire forum post and still had a question that wasn't really answered
I am a part 141 flight instructor and about to interview for an airline and will be filling out a PRIA (only job I have ever had as a "pilot"). Exactly what information will the 141 flight school send compared to say a 121/135 operator? I know 141 keeps records of EVERYTHING, but just curious to what is sent...company training records, disciplinary actions, failed rides, all my past students and flights we have done, etc??? Thanks for the help!!! |

The FAA no longer throws out anything. It had everything in there from the private pilot days and on for me, and that was over 20 years ago.

Are 121 airlines required to report proficiency check failures to the FAA for your permanent records?? If an airline is now completely out of business, would a part 121 PC fail from 2 yrs ago show up on FAA records??. Even though out of business, are the airlines required to maintain these records??

But I have worked for a company that did go out of business, but was lucky enough to NOT have any failures there. From what I gathered when interviewing elsewhere is, the new potential employer has to make a "good faith effort" to get your records from the previous/Tango Uniform employer. They may not exist, or there may be a "custodian" that does have them. As far as a "PC fail", that's in house and doesn't go to the FAA. However, if it was an event where a pink slip would have been involved, that DOES show up at the FAA. |

Defunct airlines normally designate a records custodian, who will respond to PRIA requests. This would be the case in BK or in the event of a COMAIR scenario. You just need to find out the address of the custodian and send your PRIA request there. |
