Can you request copies of your PRIA records ahead of time? I believe you can opt to receive copies of what is provided to a potential employer when they've requested PRIA records afterwards.

You can get anything from the FAA, except possibly info related to an open/unresolved investigation.

I don't think you can trigger an on-demand PRIA request from past employers.

You should be able to view such info on file with your current employer, although they may not have to give you copies.

How do you do a FAA records check?? I failed a portion of my initial instrument check ride many years ago... So I ordered my FAA record, or atleast what I though was it and all I got back was a letter saying that I had an ATP and showed my cert #. The reason being, I'm not so sure my flight school turned in that pink slip to the FAA. I want something saying either the pink slip is out there, or it is not. Anyone have any ideas??

Millls22 - if u busted a ride then u busted a ride. It happens and it's not the end of the world. What matters is how you handle it and what you learned from it. I cant speak to to what you learned but how you should handle it is BE HONEST. I know it sounds cliche, but we learn more from our failures than we do our successes. Focus on the positive of your pink slip and stop trying to conceal the truth. I would rather share a cockpit with an honest pilot who is human than a dishonest pilot who cares more about appearing perfect than being perfect.

Btw, I'm still striving to fly a perfect flight - and if I ever succeed then I'll probably retire :)

I had a taxi incident working for a 135 carrier. The FAA came out and looked at the plane. However, I never received any notice from the FAA and when I received all my records there was nothing in my records about the incident. I disclose the event on all my apps. However, my question is was I ever "formally" charged with the event? It is possible there is no record of it?

Pink slips don't show up as part of your routine, public records. A FOIA request should turn them up though, and I have heard it rumored but don't know for sure that some airlines have done FOIA requests for FAA records.

As an operator is there any liability in reporting records that are more then 5 years old and may or may not be complete. I ask because I just had an over eager assistant send old records out on an ex employee. My company doesn't properly keep records that are more then five years old.

Could be, talk an a lawyer who is familiar with aviation/airline issues.

However...the FAA just changed the rule, eliminating the five-year limit, so all records are fair game. But you might still have a valid complaint if the the event occurred while the 5-year rule was still in effect.

Do you know when the rule changed? This event occured in May. All that I can find only points to the FAA retaining records beyond 5 years, I can't find clarification on company's required record retention beyond 5 years. Many other operators I network with purge their records that are 5 years old or older for liability reasons.
