Airline application question

Airline application question
On airline applications they ask for aircraft flown. I have flown in 10 single engine piston aircraft. Is it acceptable to condense them as "single engine piston" or do they really want to know how many hours I have in C150, C152, PA28-151, PA28-161, etc?

I would answer the question literally. While it's probably not a big deal which ASEL you have flown some interviewers might view failure to follow instructions explicitly as an indication of apathy or shortcut-taking.
Also the fact that you have flown multiple types indicates an ability and willingness to learn new things.
If you don't have Logbook Pro yet, might as well spend the money now. The longer you wait, the harder the data entry will be, and LBP can slice, dice, and sort data easily.

I applied for an airline recently that uses airline applications. I grouped my single engine with manufacture. Single engine Cessna...total time. Single engine Beechcraft...total time. Multi engine Cessna...total time, etc.. Seemed to work just fine for that particular airline.

The logbook pro people have a data entry service if you don't feel like doing it yourself.

Logbook pro does have an iPhone app, but it dosen't work the same as the full program. It's more an entry portal for data. You plug in your flights in your phone and it syncs via the interweb to your PC or Laptop version when you boot it up. Conversely if you log stuff on your computer, it will sync back to your phone so you can pull currency, total time, etc on your phone. Your phone won't give you full detailed reports and all the goodies the desktop will.

No experience with the other ones, but the NC app works seemlesly. You just have to have a sync portal account, which is free. Then plug in your account info to both your phone and computer, and everytime you start the program and shut down it syncs. Also great as a back up for your data if your computer crashes.

Just my 2 cents.. I purchased Log Book Pro and it took me about two months to enter all my flight time from two log books but I did it a few pages a night to make sure it was accurate. I purchased it because I was anticipating applying to an Airline and I knew breaking down all the aircraft I flew would be difficult, especially the way Airline Apps wants it. I second Rick's comments above~ It was well worth the time spent doing the entries because I can slice and dice by Aircraft Category, Class, IFR, Landings, PIC, Instructor, Dual and much more. Made completing the application very easy!
