I also think it is important to give proper information on these forums and to think that the information you reveal on your NDR will not be used to conduct a state drivers license history is just misinformation, of the 50 plus pilots I have hired over the years not one of them came back without a state driving record and not one of these pilots ever filled out a request for a state driving record. Fair enough, but the fact remains the same. Speeding tickets are not part of your NDR file. Anyone with Chief Pilot or DO experience should be aware of this. In fact, it would be wise for any pilot to be aware of this. That's why I chose to point out the error in your original post. Only trying to help those that view these forums. There are instances when your NDR file may be accessed, but not your driving record. For example, an application for your medical.

I got a ticket for speeding in September of 1998 and spent a painful evening at traffic school because of it. Amazingly, I had forgotten all about until I read this thread. Without any nefarious intentions, I never mentioned it on the applications I filled out recently. Should I go back and add it to the application on airlineapps.com?

First of all, speeding tickets in most states are removed from your public records if you attend traffic school. You can go to your DMV and ask for a copy of your driving record and it will show you what is on your record. If for some reason it wasn't removed I would be honest with your potential employer. If you don't think that the information you provide on your NDR will be used to get a state driving record From a background check you will be in for a big surprise. Don't believe the misinformation that AKasha is feeding this post. I have over five years of Chief Pilot experience and I have hired over 50 pilots over the years, I can tell you they will find out from the information that is required of you to be filled out for any commercial carrier. If you want the job be honest if you don't want the job then go ahead and believe the misinformation from this post.

I fully agree with you & That's exactly what my question is regarding the airline apps........

How long do we go back & list the Trafiic tickets/Voilations in the Airline Apps, the question reagrding citations/voilations does not mention any specific years, Is it 5 yrs, 10 yrs or eversince one got his licence...

2nd question, how long of a driving record does Eagle want to see ??

I worked at Eagle from 1997 thru 1999. I was so young that I only had 7 years of driving experience and I told them about a ticket that I had and I still got the job. To be safe I would tell them about the last ten years.

If you believe that the NDR keeps records of your speeding tickets, I urge you to get a copy of your NDR file and see for yourself that this is not the case. Knowledge is power. Why not find out first-hand exactly what the National Driver Register has on you? It's free. Here's how do to it....

"You are entitled, under the provisions of the Privacy Act, to request a file search to see if you have a record on the NDR. As a private citizen, you must send a notarized letter commonly referred to as a “privacy act request” to the NDR indicating that you would like an NDR file check. Individuals should send their request to the National Driver Register, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20590. Please include in your request your full legal name, DOB, State and Driver License Number, Sex, Height, Weight, and Eye Color (your social security number is optional). There is no charge for this service."

The NDR does not keep a record of your speeding tickets.

I have seen too many of these background checks on pilots to waste my time with sending away for it. Speeding tickets come back on background checks period end!! The information you provide on the NDR is used by the background check company to attain this information. I just confirmed this with my contacts at NADA. Akasha please stop providing pilots with false hopes that speeding tickets won't be seen as part of their background checks, because that is just wrong!!

OK, correct me if I am getting it wrong ...
AKASHA is saying is NDR doesn't have any record of tickets.
CLIMBTO450 is saying the info that one provides on the NDR, the back ground check companies use that info & pull your records, what one tells them & what one doesn't, all comes out..

So, all that is fine.....

The question is if one gets a speeding ticket, goes to court & that ticket is dismissed & judge finds NOT GULITY, then that ticket is not a ticket.....

or still it needs to be disclosed........

2nd thing, if one gets a ticket & goes to court, the judge finds gulity & allows a traffic school (AS ALLOWED IN CALIFORNIA), that ticket will not show on DMV print out of driving record, that ticket has been corrected.....

Do we have to disclose that ticket as well & does that corrected ticket , for which traffic school or defensive driving school, has been taken & what is not on DMV record,
Will that show on the background check as well........

No, in California particularly you can attend traffic school and it will delete it from your public record or any record that an employer may see. I don't know if that same rule applies in every state. It is up to you if you want tell a potential employer about it but they will not find out. I have had a similar experience but from the employers perspective. The pilot told me about a speeding ticket and mentioned that he attended traffic school and it did not show up on his California state driving record.
