Should I list Traffic tickets more than 10 yr

Yeah that's the Question..

Should I list the traffic tickets which are more than 10 yrs old.

I am filling my airline apps & I just got my DMV printout yesterday from the califonia DMV for 10 yrs & it shows 2 tickets from the year 2000, citation dates June 2000 & July 2000, conviction dates on 08/17/2000.

I have another speeding ticket from 05/2007 with a conviction date of 08/2007.

I know people have said that U need to take a certified copy of the driving history to the interview.

Now my question is, do I need to mention the 2 tickets from year 2000 in the airline apps or should I limit my voilation/citations to 10 yrs history, even though the DMV prinout shows the 2 tickets from year 2000.

Pls advise

I wouldn't give them more then they ask for. 10 years to the date. The NDR request won't show tickets earlier then that.

The NDR doesn't show speeding tickets.

Follow their directions to the letter. Period.

Bring backup paperwork on anything else to the interview but don't pull it out unless asked.

I am going to the DMV again today to ask them to FIX it......

As chief pilot I have seen many background checks that have all kinds of tickets on them. Who told you NDRs don't show tickets?

From The National Driver Registry | OFFICIAL Forms Website - Home

"Here are three things you NEED to know about the National Driver Registery and your records that will save you both time and frustration!

1. The National Driver Register only provides you with the State or States that have your records and the status of your driver license.

2. The National Driver Register does not have the content of the records. Only your name, Date of Birth and the States in which you have had your license revoked or suspended.

3. You must have the State records to regain your driving privileges.

What does this mean? This means that in addition to your National Driver Registry record, you will need to obtain your state driving record in order to know why your license has been revoked or suspended."

From National Driver Register | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)...

"NDR is a computerized database of information about drivers who have had their licenses revoked or suspended, or who have been convicted of serious traffic violations such as driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs. State motor vehicle agencies provide NDR with the names of individuals who have lost their privileges or who have been convicted of a serious traffic violation."

If a background check reveals a speeding ticket, the source of the information was not the National Driver Register.

And then any background company out there takes that report and gets your driving records from the state that you have a license in. It's all part of the process of hiring a pilot. So the moral of the story is NDR = state license check = traffic tickets revealed from your past looking at any other way is ignorant to the spirit of the process. The point if this story is that filling out your NDR form gives the background company the ability to get your state driving information and when the results of the background checks come back your tickets will be on there. It's cause and affect.

I think its important to understand the NDR doesn't keep records of speeding tickets. When posting on these forums, its important to post accurately. To state that the NDR shows speeding tickets is not accurate.
