Flyboy... The fact that you already have your degree at 19 is pretty incredible! Congrats! As far as everything else goes....

2 things.

1. I can't believe I'm about to say this... But I agree with Shyguy - there isn't a "best" regional. Get your time in and get out. Doesn't matter what you fly or where you fly to.

2. Again I agree with another comment here. CHILL! You're 19 and want to start your career. I've been there but I got my first job at 21. Take it from me... Flight instruct, build time, enjoy your life, chase some women, and do some crazy things with your friends (keep it legal!!). Once you start flying for a regional your time at home will literally be cut in half (if not more). So enjoy your time while you're building hours

But most of all... GOOD LUCK and have fun!! You're in a damn good spot. Keep working hard and enjoy!

Like the others have said, go out there chase tail and have fun along the way. Everyone has stories about the crappy hotels we stay at, not many have stories about the time "we were chased out of the hotel in Olongapo."
As the grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine reminds us, "you should be out there getting that young stuff that's the best stuff"

I would seriously consider getting more degrees in another field. You sound like a real smart kid, don't waste it on a regional.

I'm sure you won't take that advise though, so find a 91/135 gig that you can also instruct at. That's what I did and it worked out pretty good for me. Get that Turbine PIC and you'll be golden for the looming pilot shortage.

Grad school, CFI, Part 91 contract flights or 135.

Quote: My advice: Chill the hell out.

Not trying to be rude, but, dang brother......you a missing out on a lot of fun and life experiences. I understand you want to get ahead, but if you are just work, work, work and have no stories to tell or real life learning experiences outside of aviation, I promise you're going to regret it at some point in your life.

I'm big on the wholistic approach to living. It sounds like you're trying to be a 747 captain ASAP. Have some fun, flight instruct, drink, dawg chicks, drink, flight instruct, go on road trips, drink, dawg chicks and/or flight instruct.

Take a deep breath and live a little. You're 19, I assure you you are ahead of the power curve.
Hahaha my buddy said the same thing...

More like, people like those have no life, get no tail, and have no friends.... Please tell me you have a life, get some tail, and have friends!

If not, I feel bad for you! But congrats on all of your accomplishments thus far!! Get all those degrees, in this economy they will make good toilet paper eventually :P You'll get there regardless.

If I was 19 again... I'd get that bachelors degree and when I wasn't instructing or flying boxes get myself a convertible to bird dog chicks and bang beaver. Live it up for as long as you can.
Haha this is great

Okay, thanks for the advice guys. My girlfriend is a CFI for F.I.T. in Melbourne, I figured it would be the best to just move to florida, enjoy being 19, and hopefully get a job as a CFI down there for a while, maybe work on my master's degree at the same time. If all works out, could years down the road, ill be 1500TT 800ME + and will have more doors open for me!

Jesus dude...where did you get all the $$ to do all this at 19? Moving? ...a masters degree??
You sound like me...overly excessive planning. Don't let it drive you crazy!
My advice is the same as the others. Chill out...being young only happens once.
Good luck!

I'm also curious on how you afforded all of this. Hopefully you have wealthy parents.

Quote: Your senator might be mistaken. I was told by our manager of flight standards that there is no grandfathering in. Must be eligible to hold an atp (age & time) by 8/1/13
That doesn't make any sense... If that's the case, then it's a counterproductive law. It's stupid anyway. Just make more rigorous test or More currency requirements, not infinity hours...
