Pilot Career Vs Reality
#11
It's already been touched on but I will re-emphasize it: Be careful financially. Flight training is expensive and can be a drain, or a downright anchor, if you don't plan accordingly and remain faithful to your planning. It may be a while before you see "dawn" financially as a pilot.
If you don't plan well at least marry well.

I'd highly caution anyone to really think hard at the junctions, there is so much fun you can have with a PPL and so much better in life to owe 10K-20K rather than just be in a "hole" you can't get out of. I'm just saying this because I've seen it more than once.

I think what happens a LOT of the time is that someone gets into it, pours 20K into private + maybe starting on another, then stalls, then figures: "well, I already invested x amount, so I might as well go the whole way"...

Financial issues are one of the biggest factors in divorces. I'm sure you don't want to be a statistic.
Hope for the best but plan for the worst.
