Default Traffic tickets and hiring

I found a similar thread, so hopefully I'm not wasting anybody's time with a little bit different question. I recently got pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt. The officer pulled up next to me at the first stop light after I left my neighborhood, and noticed it. I'm won't make excuses, it was a stupid mistake, I was complacent about putting it on promptly. The fine is pretty small and it carries no points. All in all, a good reminder to observe the rules and play it safe.

Nonetheless, I have an otherwise clean driving record and with the amount of movement at the regional I fly for, I might be in a position to start applying to the majors in the near future. I'm concerned about the impact of such a ticket in recent history on my record. I know competition for jobs is fierce, and I'd hate to see my application set aside because of it. Does anybody with airline hiring experience think such a violation would present a problem? Or am I worried about nothing? My record is otherwise squeaky clean.

Thanks to everyone for your responses! Buckle up!

I would not worry too much about a ticket for not wearing your seat belt. You may have to explain it during an interview.

There are people who get hired at the major level with speeding tickets, stop sign violations, even a DUI. Take responsibility for your mistakes and try not to do it again.

You have no worries. This is very minor in the grand scheme of things and you seem to have the right attitude about it.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I was just concerned that with so many pilots out there, many of whom likely have clean records, even a minor blemish like this one could get my application sent to the bottom of the pile. Sounds like I'll probably be alright.

I have one ticket on my record for doing 15 over in the last 10 years. I have never been asked about it in any interview. People get tickets, it happens. As long as they aren't excessive, a DUI, or a reckless driving, you probably wont have to explain yourself.

I've had a ton of speeding tickets... the last one was a year ago, and the one before that was a year prior. It happens. The majority of mine were over 5 years ago. Its not as big a deal as you might think.
