Hi guys/girls
Just wondering how many foreign born pilots there are in the USA. Obviously to get work in the US one would need permanent residency status etc, but that aside what percentage are non US born?
Specific airlines would be helpful, i.e.:
.American Airlines
.United/Continental
.US Airways
.Jetblue
I'm not expecting anyone to know the exact numbers, but just an estimate.
And yes, I am a hopeful foreigner ;-)
Cheers

Nobody but Human Resources at the company in question is going to have access to that kind of info.
Based on what I have seen at the airlines I've worked for and while jumpseating I would guess that up to 5% of US regional pilots are foreign-born, and maybe slightly less at the majors. There are plenty of foreign pilots flying for US airlines and you odds of getting in are the same as anyone else's...your experience and connections are important, your place of birth is not (this assumes you have a green card).
