There is a grain of truth in both sides of this discussion...

A major airline will like, in addition to some sort of TPIC, to see some glass turbojet time just so they are comfortable that you can be trained.

Turboprop only pilots have a significant fail rate going to glass jets for reasons I don't understand (I've found it harder going the other way).

But for now, 121 TPIC is king, especially since you might have to wait 5-8+ years to get some. RJ SIC you can always get if needed.

It is true, it all depends on the end goal... Where do you want to end up. Do the research on the dream job and there will be a distinction.

Well this kind of exploded. Yea my thinking if upgrade time was about 2 years in the E-175 it be a better deal but nothing is predictable in the regionals as we all know.

Thanks for all the input!

leave any simple topic to a bunch of pilots to make it harder than it needs to be.

again, PIC turboprop is better than SIC jet.

I know more than one person that has made captain in the EMB and transitioned to the CRJ as a captain. That's the win-win because you're PICing it the entire time, even if you don't make the CRJ in a decent amount of time, you've got the PIC you might not otherwise have, which opens up further opportunities. Listen to the PICers!

With all due respect, you don't even fly 121.

I have never injected heroin either, and if someone asked me if it was a good idea, I would tell them no

Can you explain this comment please?

Interesting.

Great point of view!!!

So the pilot at Emirates who needed 3000 hours to get hired, has close to 3-4 type ratings with international experience will get the boot while a B1900 CA will get hired .. I just don't buy it.

So.....you never flew the beech and probably wouldn't last flying one left or right seat
