Jumpseating
#4
For security reasons we are not going to get into procedural details of jumpseating.
But 135 carriers can and do enter into mutual jumpseat agreements with 121 airlines. This will allow cabin jumpseating only, unless the 135 company also participates in CASS. 135/121 agreements are not universal for two raesons:
1) It is usually lopsided...the 135 pilots get a lot more benefit than the 121 pilots who can rarely benefit from a 135 ride.
2) 135 carriers have a nasty habit of repositioning their crews by jumpseating. JS is a mutual courtesy between professional pilots, it's for personal travel only, never business travel. It's not intended for unscrupulous corporate operators and their lame pilots to take advantage of 121 pilot hospitality by lying to obtain free rides on the competition.
Anything else you need to know you can get from your company or union.
