So you're saying going to a regional for SIC jet time will maximize the OP's odds over 135 PIC jet time?

Default The point?

The point is that as the years go by it is getting more competitive all the time because there are fewer halfway decent jobs to get so everyone is fighting for them.

Apart from the number of hours one has or who their contacts are the biggest factor is luck and how much you are willing to compromise your life to get there.

I believe that a better question is why?

I'm saying that he is missing the 121 check box, and he has a lot of competition that isn't. Always, always TPIC first, but he has that....I don't see much value-added to more than 2K TPIC.

And obviously apply to all majors airlines...if he gets on with Spirit or VA that would obviously be better than a regional and he could still apply to the legacies from there if he's so inclined.

If he doesn't get any bites, despite have plenty of TPIC then he may need to diversify his resume...or make some new friends. Any new FO at a regional today is going to meet CA's who will be at the majors in a matter of months.
