Post King Air Type Rating

I am coming up on my DOS/EAS and have found that I really would like to work just on the charter side of the house. I have 200+ TT PIC in a King Air 200 and would like to know if getting a type rating in a 300/350 is really worth it? Also, I understand that it doesn't hurt to have any type of papered training, yet I really want to know if it will help in finding a job outside of the military? If any one has any more insight on the King Air 300/350 type rating; or would like to further inform me on the best type ratings (most desirable ones) that employers are looking for I would be appreciative...

A King Air type rating is an excellent type rating to have because there are so many of them out there. That also makes it a dime a dozen type rating to have.
The most desirable type ratings might be ones which are based in an area in which you want to live/base, or a specific company that you desire to work for, though paying for one on your own dime can get expensive - even if using assistance.
There is a mature thread on the forum in the Fractional section for Executive AirShare (EAS). Check them out. A new outfit called Wheels Up seems to be in the process of interviewing too.
Do a search on the forum, target the Fractional subforum, and even search for King Air in the title and you'll come up with good reading to answer most of your questions.

Thank you for letting me know that. Yes, I talked to a place today called Fly-Right and i can get my Intial type and ATP for 16,000.00 and they are GI Bill qualified. They told me that Wheels up order something like 300 King Airs and they are hiring. The one thing they did tell me is that the King Air 300/350 type rating is a good one but throughout the community it was known to be one of the hardest, do you know if there is any truth to that?

I had only sat in one King Air cockpit prior to my interview ride in a King air 300, then went to the type rating course with SimuFlite (CAE) in Dallas/Ft Worth without having flown a turboprop (and in the civvie world to boot) for over 15+ years and I was able to make it through
They will teach you what you need to know. If you have KA time from the military (my sim partner was a two tour C-12 guy) - it was more lie a transition course for him. You'd be fine!

Any type rating is good to have it just depends on what u want to do....most companies require time in type so just the type doesn't do much good unless you can build some time somewhere
