Opinions- 135 vs. 121 jobs

If you want to fly for the majors, I'd go with the regional job.
Go somewhere that looks to have good movement and a reasonable time to the left seat. The majors are going to start hiring, and guys are going to be getting hired from the regionals. This will open positions moving everyone up the list. Upgrade times now, should come down at the regionals that aren't shrinking, IMO. You never know too, you might get an interview with your times as a SIC.
Just an unofficial observation by me here at Delta - we get mostly military and former 121 guys as new hires. Sure, there will be exceptions here and there, but I can only think of one maybe two guys that I've encountered here that didn't fit that profile.

Sometimes it feels sad, that still if you fly 135 in jets even, that you still have to go to a regional. Or thats just the feeling I get. Jet PIC from a 135 operator just doesn't cut it. Granted a 135 guy could do all his own flight planning, safely go to airports that have only a VOR-A at night, travel across oceans, order his own fuel, deal with the customers from start to end, and much more. Its a lot of work, but all it seems to get is more 135 work most of the time. Sad world.
