Sorry joliet but i couldn't PM you for some reason. Where are the erj and crj airframes going? Does psa get in on that action or do they just go to the lowest bidder? Whats the upgrade time right now? How many captains would you say are lifers or are most captains holding out for the flowthrough? Since PSA has a blended payscale do you get paid inbetween the 200 pay scale and the 700 payscale? Do you have ready reserve where you get to watch the paint dry on the walls? Do newhires have to take CLT or can you get TYS out of training? Thanks!

PSA is supposed to receive the firm order of 30 CRJs. The ERJs will realistically go to an operator that already has an Embraer program, or can foot the bill. There has been talk of US Airways absorbing Piedmont and PSA to fly the E190s, and now more talk of AAG absorbing the wholly-owneds to fly the E175s. I think it is a pipedream, but who knows. It's surprising that PSA is getting more airplanes in itself.

Six years and a couple months. New hires in the next six months to a year will enjoy a 2 year upgrade based on aircraft deliveries alone.

I would say between 50-75 captains are lifers. They are going through the senior portion of the seniority list to find the first group of seniority based interviews quickly as many are lifers, and prefer to stay. There is NO flow through. It is two guaranteed interviews. There may be a flow through or additional benefits to working at PSA in the future.

A blended payscale at PSA is posted on this website, and is accurate. You can increase those rates by about 1% with 30 large RJs on property. Everyone is paid the same whether they fly the CRJ-200 or CRJ-700, and the same would be with any additional airplanes.

Yes there is ready reserve in Dayton and Charlotte. There is also short call (2 hours), and long call reserve (12 hours.) New hires hired in the next year won't be on reserve very long. I sat ready reserve from my apartment that was 5 minutes from the airport in Dayton. Charlotte ready reserves have it bad. There is no ready reserve in Knoxville.

New hires are being assigned Dayton at the moment, but most could hold any base they wanted within a month or two back in 2007-2008, before finishing training, so I imagine this time around will be similar. Knoxville is junior to Charlotte, and easily obtainable. Additionally there may be new crew bases announced sometime this Spring, but the current bases are not foreseen to go away.

Yeah I may not have PM capabilities yet. I just registered on here.

Don't go to Delta because they stole the B Fund from Pilots
Delta, PBGC Reach Agreement on Delta Pilot Pension Plan

Don't go to American because they took benefits, killed the contract and let them screw their pilots to recover from Bankruptcy

Don't go to United because they defaulted on the Pilot's pension

Don't go to SWA because they gave huge concessions to AirTran in order to get routes and therefore screwed their pilots

don't go to jetBlue because they don't have a union and have a bad healthcare plan

What does that leave????

In other words, every big business wins eventually and stomping your feet only prolongs the anguish and makes your feet sore. Assimilate to the Borg and when given the opportunity take it. Now's not the time at the beginning of a hiring wave, but in 5 years when they absolutely need more pilots in Majors and Regionals alike, perhaps they will listen. But since 117 won't let us work as much, that means more pilots that need benefits and pay therefore reducing the chance for pay raises. Now that airlines are starting to make profits again everyone wants the gravy boat pouring some goo on our plates. Eventually, the gravy boat goes empty. I don't know when or how it will happen, but then again, industry was killing it in August of 2001....

Go to whoever hires you first. No one has a crystal ball. You can always move somewhere else.
