Well, sometimes that's all it takes. Bachelor's Degree=Block checked.

They might both get a person a 4 year degree which helps check a box on an app, but I don't think they will help stand out in an app.

I'm just talking about box checking. It's all relative. TESC, UVU and others are good enough for me if one just wants a degree in something.

Military academies are great. I would say however that a degree from a state school or other "once great" institutions have been watered down immensely due to government programs and the need for everyone to have a degree.

He didn't say anything about the either place will make you stand out. He was just saying the programs are good for people who wants to take online classes, and earn their 4 year degree. Many people I know who graduated from UVU have made it to, Delta, United, Fed Ex, Southwest, and so on.

True statement! However, the military folks are very familiar with non traditional programs offered at Thomas Ed, Excelsior College, University of Maryland, Embry Riddle, etc. Don't forget, many soldiers, sailors and airmen under their command attended these military sponsored schools. In addition, many of the Officers earned their graduate degree from some of these schools.

If you have any ambitions outside of aviation, my suggestion is to put a little more effort into earning an accredited degree that offers some utility outside of just "checking the box". Why? Because an aviation degree and $3.99 gets you a Happy Meal nowadays! Although a bachelors degree in just about any major, will get you accepted into an online MBA program.
