Default Fed Observed Ride & PRIA?

Sooo...

My Fed observation ride (with a company examiner) was a little rough around the edges and everybody including me agreed a little more IOE was in order. All went well the second time around. The check airmen assured me that this was not a checkride or line check, but rather a "are you ready yet" kind of check.

I've been assured it's not PRIA reportable, and it does not appear in my company PRIA record. Does anyone know of any other way this might come to light with a potential employer, ie FAA airman records?

Thanks!

It may or may not appear somewhere in your training record depending upon how your companies paperwork is designed.

In the long run it won't hurt you, it's not a "check" it's an "observation", and it must only be recorded as "complete" before you are released to line service, it is not "pass/fail" and can be completed prior to completion of IOE, though many companies treat it as the last flight of IOE.

I agree. You have nothing to worry about. Besides, you aren't the first one to need extra training, and you most assuredly won't be the last.

Don't even think about it. If anything, set it aside as a great TMAAT story about learning for a future interview.

The reason the Fed was there was to observe the Check Airman's performance, not yours. If the Check Airman had made the "wrong" call regarding the outcome, the Fed would not have been very happy with the Check Airman. Feds are pilots too and in all honesty, Feds want to see all airmen be successful. Learn from the event and move on. Nothing else to see here...

That is akin to saying : aviatorhi isn't very familiar with aviation.

Sure sure, but the one I said rings true based on his statement, yours doesn't. Go ahead and swing the ban hammer if you'd like to make your point.

Ban hammer? What is that?

Maybe you should try to explain what you think the problem is.

Maybe you could also share exactly how many Fed Observeration rides you have conducted as a Fed.

To the OP, you can always request your training records from your company to see what they say. Then you can decide what to do based on the wording there.
