Default PRIA Question

Part 135 Initial ride unsat. Flubbed go-around.

This is PRIA reportable, correct?

I'm a career-changer at age 48, but can return to my former career, but only for a few more weeks.

Thinking about leaving and going back to old career. Am I screwed for regionals?

Thanks, all.

PRIA, yup.
Regionals, you'll be just fine.

Fine for regionals. One bust will slow your progression to the majors a little bit if you're headed there but not too big a deal if it was your first 135 or 121 training.

Just how bad could it "slow his progression"? I failed my first 135 checkride too (fiddling with the GPS on ILS approach). They never did train us in the proper use of the GPS (it was assumed we knew how already), and for this the POI slammed the training department a little. I got the practice I needed, then passed on my second try.

But I'm just starting at a regional... so in 4-6 years when I apply to a major, hoping that they might be feeling the shortage a little worse by then, just what should I expect?

Right now it would push your resume down in the stack below those who didn't check any of the bad boxes. The overall strength of your app could push it higher, but all else equal, they would call the other folks before you. So I don't know, a 2-4 year delay right now, but that's just a very rough guess.

As hiring picks up the delay could come down a lot, since when they get to your general demographic group they'll move through it a lot faster.

Also not sure if their algorithm weights the recency of the bust, ie maybe the negative affect on your score will decrease over time (assuming no new events of that nature).

Just a guess.
