Go with UPS! Growth in the cargo industry is unmatched in the aviation world. (Unless you just can't stand those Brown Uniforms)

It is really a question of personality. Can you make the adjustment to night flying. Do not underestimate the difficulty of night ops. Your body takes a beating. Also it is a question of ego, do you think you can handle being a freight dog. Granted a well paid dog but there will be not flight attendants, no adoring passengers, no glamorous walks through the terminal (wait I was remembering the “good o’l days).

What you will get is pristine equipment, great pay, QOL and stability. Let me say that again “STABILITY.” When was the last time UPS furloughed, when was the last time they had a “bad” quarter in the market. That is my 2 cents worth. I would leave the bus driving to greyhound and go BROWN, but I am just a dumb freight dog……

I would agree upon the night ops thing - even though you have day flying NOW it sounds like about 50% is still night ops. I'll tell when I've flown all night I don't feel very good for a few days. Also, the long international (I have a buddy who is MD-11 international - 10 day trips) it takes him two-three days to recover from that. While I admit the pay and stability would be great I am only gone 3-4 days at a time. Take the best job for you (don't underestimate where you want to live/living in your domicile) and keep your fingers crossed.

you meant male flight attendants, no adoring passengers trying to light their shoes with matches and glamorous walks through the terminal security checkpoints dealing with the TSA!

I think its an easy choice since everyone here is saying pretty much the same thing. Its short term pain for long term gain. Boxes are easy to fly and you can do things operationally in cargo that you can't do with pax as in no seat belt sign, cockpit entry security etc. I have a good paying stable job right now and yet I still plan to go brown, if and when I get out of the pool. So since you're asking go brown , its sweet just like chocolate.
Think of it this way. The good thing about cargo is there are no flight attendents, the bad thing about cargo is there are no flight attendents. Depends on how ya see it. I like the good thing and I like chocolate. Especially for the sugar/caffine buzz to lock in for the finall approach mode after being awake all night or all day depending on what time zone .
See ya in ANC.

The only thing I'll say is if you hadn't made up your mind, why did you apply to UPS? If you have been hired and say no, I don't think they'll ask again (from what I hear). So the fact that you applied to UPS, went through the process and was hired means to me that in the back of your mind you think you should go to UPS.

Why not JetBlue, SWA, etal.?

Is your GEE5 job that bad? Staying there isn't an option?
